PHILOSOPHY OF THE ORGANIZATION
The agency is a community-based organization that provides services to all clients located in the geographic service delivery areas, regardless of cultural background or socioeconomic status. The agency believes our staff work best when we engage each client and provide treatment that achieves the clients goals in their home, community, or school, and incorporates all members of their family and/or community, which will enhance their opportunity for success. The agency operates in an open and transparent manner in accordance with applicable legal requirements.
Mid-Iowa Family Therapy Clinic, Inc. provides services in support of several Department of Human Services programs. We also provide comprehensive independent outpatient treatment and therapy services to children and adults under our Outpatient Services Program.
ORGANIZATIONAL HISTORY
Christine Secrist, Ph.D., L.M.F.T., founded Mid-Iowa Family Therapy Clinic, Inc. in 1991 in response to the great need in Iowa’s rural communities for mental health treatment for children and families. Dr. Secrist has since continued in this pursuit and has expanded across Iowa from the original site in Perry. For a complete listing of current locations, please go to the Contact page.
